A twin bedroom also looks out onto the mountain which is accessed from the main living area. Here you'll find a big comfortable sofa plus a couple of armchairs, TV with Freesat & DVD player, and basic radio/CD.

There's a round dining table & 4 chairs before you reach the kitchen, and this is equipped with a large fridge with ice box, full size dishwasher, ceramic hob, microwave and small halogen oven as well as plenty of kitchen tools, pots & pans, crockery, glasses & cutlery. You'll also find teapots & various coffee makers.

The washing machine is in the bathroom. This also has a full size bath and a shower over with a screen. The toilet is separate.

Across from the toilet, the double bedroom faces the back of the property and overlooks the parking.

Each bedroom has its own independent heater and there are two in the main living area, one in the bathroom. A small entrance hall stores coats & boots and there is also plenty of storage space in each bedroom. The apartment also has its own separate ski locker.

Resort Description

Serre Chevalier has over 250km of piste covering 4 resorts from Briancon to Monetier-les-Bain and at an altitude of between 1200 and 2800m. The terrain is mostly tree-lined with flattering green, red and some black runs. The beginners slopes at Chantemerle are gentle and protected - but well situated by the cafes & restaurants midway up the mountain at Serre Ratier. There are English as well as French tutors here. And, thankfully there are no T-bars anywhere in the resort to grapple with and very few button lifts.

Lift passes are hands-free and, with the Holiski scheme, you can pay as you go. Families can also get good deals. If you buy a Serre Chevalier pass for 6 days or more, this also allows you to access the Milky Way, Montgenevre, Sestriere, Puy St. Vincent, Alpes d'Huez and Les 2 Alpes for 1 day. And includes a one day cross-country skiing pass.

While the skiing is great in Serre Che, the nightlife is very low-key, especially in Chantemerle. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from here but only a couple of bars and a small bowling alley. Villeneuve is probably a better bet if you prefer your apres-ski a little more lively.

Both skiers & non-skiers can enjoy the fabulous Spa at Monetier, a trip to the medieval town of Briancon, spot Chamois on a snow-shoe expedition, go ice-skating, watch motorsport at the ice circuit, try dog-sledding, or even sign up for a lesson in a piste-basher.

Other Resorts Nearby

The Milky Way accessed from Montgenevre or Sestriere is a good option. Montgenevre is only about 20 mins drive away and has easy access to the piste from the car park. Puy St. Vincent is about half an hour away while Alpes d'Huez and Les 2 Alpes are probably about an hour away.
